Celebration Exhibition and Event: Images of Industrial Heritage
We are pleased to announce an event celebrating the 2026 edition of the ICOMOS UK photography competition! Join us for an exhibition and announcement of the winners.
The second in our series of photography competitions aimed to explore changing approaches to and perceptions of industrial heritage. We sought images that shone a spotlight on sites of industrial heritage, and that reflected on how they are preserved, celebrated and debated.
Photographers captured images of the stark beauty and surprising fragility of industrial heritage and our changing relationships with it. They document change in and for local communities as a result of industrialisation, deindustrialisation and the social, economic, and environmental impacts of both.
We will be announcing the winners in the four categories:
- Machinery – working or redundant engines, equipment, production lines and processes
- Buildings & Structures – from the monumental to the fragmentary
- Landscapes and their transformation by the presence or disappearance of industrial activity and processes
- People and community – making, conserving, taking part, moving away
Join us on the 27th November at the Gallery at Cowcross Street for a chance to see the images.
