About this Event
IMA is a feature documentary that follows seven Israeli mothers whose lives were forever changed by terror and war. One of the first truly apolitical films to emerge from the region in the past three years, IMA turns away from politics and toward the people living through it, bringing us intimately into the lives of these mothers as they confront the darkest chapter of their lives.
These are the mothers who in the face of the unimaginable, chose to rise. They found the courage to turn their pain into purpose. To speak, to fight, to forgive, to advocate, and to keep moving forward.
What connects them is something understood across every culture, faith and border. It is the instinct of a mother to protect her child, the enormity of love and loss, and the courage it takes to keep moving forward when the life you knew no longer exists.
IMA does not ask its audience to take a political position. Instead, the film creates space for something increasingly difficult to find in a deeply polarized world. The ability to see one another first as human beings.
