About the venue: A Latin American cocktail bar and small-plates restaurant rated 4.5 from around 490 reviews, mid-priced. It is closed Mondays and opens 5pm to 11pm Tuesday to Thursday. Reviewers praise the cocktails and atmosphere strongly, with a DJ on some nights; opinions on the food are more mixed. The small-plates format suits a standing, circulating event well.
Getting there: Genuinely well connected: 19th Street Oakland BART is a four-minute walk and 12th Street / Oakland City Center is five, so the venue is reachable from San Francisco in around fifteen minutes by train. That makes it the best-connected Bay Area venue in the set. Given BART's reach and downtown Oakland parking costs, the train is the sensible arrival.
