This unique pottery experience captures something wonderfully personal—the shape and impression of a real hug—in clay. Instead of making the pottery yourself, an Artventures instructor will create the pot for you, preparing it at just the right stage so that you can make your mark.
Then comes the best part: you hug the pot!
Wrap your arms, hands, and fingers around the soft clay to create natural indents and impressions. The clay responds to your touch, permanently capturing the shape and character of your embrace.
Every hug is different, which means every Hug a Pot creation is completely one of a kind.

Your finished pottery isn't designed to be perfectly symmetrical—and that's exactly the point.
As you embrace the freshly made pot, the pressure from your hands, fingers, arms, and body gently changes its shape. The resulting curves, impressions, and imperfections become part of the design, creating a physical reminder of that moment.

🏺 How the Experience Works
Your Artventures instructor makes the pot, so you don't need any pottery-wheel experience.
Once the clay is ready, the participant—or participants—will carefully embrace the pot. Your instructor will guide you on how to hold and hug the clay while allowing your natural hand and finger impressions to become part of the finished form.
There is no "perfect" Hug a Pot. The little dents, curves, fingerprints, and unexpected shapes are what make your creation special.
It's not just handmade—it's hug-made. ❤️
✨ No Pottery Experience Necessary
This experience is all about connection and creativity, so absolutely no pottery experience is required.
You don't need to know how to use a pottery wheel or shape a traditional vessel. Your instructor handles the initial creation of the pot; your hug provides the final, personal transformation.

After your Hug a Pot experience, your clay creation will need time to dry and go through the kiln-firing process, so your pottery will remain at Artventures after your visit.
