About this Event
New York City operates nearly 1,885 public schools, including charters, and for many families, it’s time to figure out which one your child should attend. How is a parent supposed to decide?
Trying to research the basics about the quality of a public school is a dizzying task. School officials put out a lot of public information, but where should you look? And which data is really important? If you go visit, what should you ask?
As school admissions season gets underway, join local education reporters on Oct. 15 as they share what they know with families, school advocates, students, and educators looking to be more informed about the city’s complex and massive school system.
This virtual and in-person event will be held at the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Cultural Center inside the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Branch, and it will also be live-streamed. It’s free to attend, but RSVP to let us know if you’re going to join virtually or in person. You can also submit questions for our education journalists ahead of time when you register.
