About this Event
The Afro-Caribbean Mentorship Program (ACMP), will host this year’s How to Get into Grad School: Empowering the Next Generation of Scholars event on November 5, 2026, at the University of Manitoba (Room 100, Fletcher Argue Building). This event aims to address specific challenges faced by students and equity-deserving students when applying to graduate programs. The ACMP recognizes the importance of providing tailored support to students, who often encounter unique obstacles in navigating the academic community. The event will showcase strategies for overcoming these barriers and offer practical, actionable advice for those seeking to further their education at the graduate level. During this session, we will focus on the challenges young students face when applying to graduate programs. Our aim is to break down these barriers by offering practical advice and resources that promote success.
This event is not just about providing information; it's about empowering you to take the next steps with confidence. Facilitated by Dr. Warren Clarke, the How to Get into Grad School event will include workshops, open discussions, Q&A sessions, and valuable resources. We aim to demystify the graduate application process and make it more accessible for young students, equity-seeking students, including immigrants. By the end of this event, you will have a clearer understanding of how to navigate the often-complex journey to graduate school, equipped with the tools to succeed.
