Curious about repair? Learn to fix electrical items with experts, and put your skills to use at community repair events.
About this Event

Join this two hour How To Fix Electricals workshop, where you'll work in teams to repair the most common items brought into commmunity repair events (toasters, kettles, lamps and more), with the support and guidance of an experienced fixer.

This workshop is designed for people who'd like to start volunteering their skills at repair events but don't know where to start.

We're collaborating with Enfield Repair Cafe and Enfield Council to recruit new volunteer fixers to support at community repair events.

After attending the workshop, you will have the opportunity to build your fixing experience, skills and confidence by shadowing and learning from experienced fixers at Enfield Repair Cafes. This session is completely free- all we ask is that you shadow a fixer at one repair cafe over the next 4 months.

All skill levels are welcome- including complete beginners and those with some fixing skills/experience already!

Please note:

  • This session is not a repair cafe, where you can bring your items for repair
  • It's for people aged16+ . 16-18 year olds may attend if accompanied by an adult.
  • Sessions like this are in high demand. This session is possible in part due to funding from The City Bridge Foundation. We kindly ask that you commit fully to this session and cancel your ticket or email [email protected] if you can no longer attend. This will ensure as many people as possible can benefit from it.
  • If this event sells out, we will be prioritising giving tickets to people who live within the borough. If you live outside Enfield, we may get in touch with you to cancel your ticket.
  • By booking a ticket, you consent to your answers being shared with The Restart Project and Enfield Repair Cafe, for reporting purposes. Your personal information will not be included in any reporting, however The Restart Project and Enfield Repair Cafe may use your name and email address to contact you for follow-up (e.g., to share updates or request further feedback).

Please email [email protected] with any emails.
