Houston Strong Children Services Presents: Supervised Independent Living Open House
Building Strong Roots. Creating Pathways to Strong Independence.
Houston Strong Children Services invites community professionals, referral partners, and youth-serving organizations to tour our Carla's House of Healing Supervised Independent Living (SIL) Home, a supportive housing environment designed for young adults ages 18–24.
As a Sanctuary of Support, our SIL program is designed to provide housing stability, life-skills development, case management, and supportive guidance to young adults as they work toward greater independence and self-sufficiency.
We welcome youth who are aging out of foster care as well as young adults experiencing a housing transition who may benefit from a structured, supportive living environment.

We are offering three tour opportunities so you can visit the home, learn more about the program, meet our team, and explore how Houston Strong Children Services can partner with your organization.
Tour Times:
- 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Our SIL program welcomes referrals and partnerships from professionals who work directly with young adults experiencing housing instability, transitioning from care, or preparing for independent living.
Healthcare & Clinical Providers
Hospital discharge planners, outpatient mental health providers, mental health case managers, residential treatment specialists, and substance use recovery professionals.
Child Welfare & Youth-Service Professionals
Social workers, case managers, Residential Treatment Center (RTC) staff, Group Residential Operations (GRO) providers, and professionals supporting youth transitioning from foster care.
Justice & Legal Advocates
Juvenile probation officers, youth defense attorneys, court liaisons, and other professionals supporting young adults involved with the justice system.
School & Campus Staff
McKinney-Vento liaisons, high school counselors, special education teams, college basic-needs coordinators, and other educational support professionals.
Disability & Employment Services
Independent Living Center counselors, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and professionals helping young adults develop employment and independent-living skills.
Homelessness & Community Providers
Youth shelter coordinators, homelessness service providers, street outreach teams, crisis support workers, and other youth-serving community organizations.
