Meet Emma Pienaar 🏑🇳🇿For 15-year-old Emma Pienaar, hockey started right here in our community. She played her very first hockey game at Millwater Hockey Turf as a young Silverdale Primary student. Years of training, travelling, games and hard work later, Emma has now been selected to represent the New Zealand Under-18 Indoor Hockey Team at the Nkosi Cup in Cape Town, South Africa this December.
Now she’s coming back to where it all began. ❤️
Rather than simply asking for donations to help cover the cost of getting to Cape Town, Emma wants to bring our hockey community together for an awesome Hockey Skills Clinic & Competition Day at Millwater Hockey Turf on 11 October 2026.
Expect hockey, competition, great coaches and players, music, BBQ, hydration stations, prizes, raffles and a HUGE atmosphere! 🏑🔥
And the day is about more than Emma. We’ll also be collecting pre-loved hockey equipment to help give other kids the opportunity to pick up a stick and start their own hockey journey.
🏑 $35 per player
