About this Event
Get Ready for the HIGH TIDE SEA DIP!
There is no better time to start sea dipping than summer.
The water is warmer, the days are longer and it gives you the opportunity to build the habit now - then keep turning up as the sea temperature gradually drops through autumn and into winter.
That is where the challenge begins.
Cold water dipping is as much about discipline as it is temperature. Getting yourself to the beach. Stepping into the water when every instinct tells you not to. Controlling your breathing. Staying calm. Then doing it again next time.
For many people, cold water swimming and dipping can bring a powerful feeling of alertness, energy and achievement. There is growing interest in its potential effects on mood, stress and wellbeing too - though cold water should always be approached sensibly and safely.
You do not need to be an experienced swimmer.
You can dip, paddle, walk into the shallows or simply spend some time getting accustomed to the sea.
The aim is simple:
Start in summer.
Build the habit.
Follow the temperature down.
Meet the winter stronger.
Aurelian Within hosts these free High Tide Sea Dips for men aged 18+ in Worthing.
No competition.
No bravado.
Just you, the sea and the challenge of showing up.
Bring a towel, warm clothing for afterwards and anything else you need to stay comfortable.
⚠️ All dips are weather and sea-condition dependent. Cold water carries genuine risks, including cold-water shock. Enter within your own ability, never feel pressured to stay in and follow local safety conditions.
