Team Composition & Army Construction • Team Size: 2 players per team, with each player typically providing a separate 1,000-point army (combining into a 2,000-point team force). • Codex Rules: Each player's army must generally be from a different core codex (no duplicating the exact same faction codex on a team, e.g., two Space Marines armies). • No Duplication: Epic Heroes, unique units, enhancements, and once-per-army datasheets cannot be duplicated across both players' lists in a team. • Warlord & Disposition: Each team selects one Character as their overall team Warlord and picks one Force Disposition card. Command Points (CP) & Stratagems • Shared CP Pool: The team shares a single pool of Command Points rather than managing them separately. • CP Generation: The force gains 1 CP per command phase, and the team is restricted on extra CP generation (usually capped at gaining no more than one extra CP per battle round). • Stratagem Limits: Limits on stratagems (such as using a specific stratagem only once per phase or once per battle) apply to the entire team, meaning you cannot double-fire the same stratagem with both players in the same phase. Unified Forces vs. Forces of Convenience • Unified Forces: If both armies share compatible faction keywords or rules, units treat each other as friendly models, can share auras/detachment rules, and can embark in each other's TRANSPORTS. • Forces of Convenience: If armies are allied loosely (such as general IMPERIUM pairings that do not formally merge rules), units from your teammate's army are treated as neither friendly nor enemy models for certain aura/ability interactions. Battlefield & Scoring • Battlefield Size: Played on a rectangular 44" x 60" board. • Battle Rounds: The game lasts 5 battle rounds. • Victory Points (VP): • Primary Missions: Up to 45 VP maximum (up to 15 VP per round). • Secondary Missions: Up to 45 VP maximum (up to 15 VP per round, max 20 VP from Fixed cards). • Battle Ready: 10 VP if both players' armies are painted to a Battle Ready standard.
