About this Event
Heat Network Zoning is set to come into effect later in 2026, marking a major shift in how heat networks are planned and delivered in England. The policy will establish defined areas where buildings can be required to connect to a heat network, significantly strengthening the powers available for the industry.
In preparation for these changes, the City Corporation will soon be launching a Zone Boundary Consultation to designate the City of London as a Heat Network Zone under the forthcoming regulations.
This briefing is intended to raise awareness and understanding of Heat Network Zoning amongst those who may be affected by, and benefit from, the policy. With presentations from the UK Government (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero), the City Property Association, the Greater London Authority, and the City of London Corporation, the event will cover:
- What Heat Network Zoning is and when & how it will be implemented
- What heat network activity is taking place in the Square Mile
- What will be required to ensure the successful delivery of the policy
