Lancaster, PA / Indianapolis, IN — Heartland Marimba, featuring Matthew Coley, Chandler Beaugrand, Sophia Lo, and Jose Uzcategui, is proud to announce the 2026 Heartland Marimba International Festival (HMIF), an international gathering of more than 50 marimba performers taking place November 1–13, 2026, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The festival will culminate with featured performances and events during the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Presented in collaboration with the Lancaster Marimba Ensemble and the Percussive Arts Society, HMIF will bring together marimbists from across the United States and around the world for an immersive week of rehearsals, masterclasses, lectures, educational presentations, and large-scale marimba orchestra performances.
In addition to festival activities in Lancaster, participants and guest artists will travel throughout Pennsylvania, New York, and Indiana for a series of performances, clinics, and masterclasses, highlighting the versatility and artistic potential of the marimba while fostering collaboration among performers, educators, and students.
The HMIF Orchestra is open to marimba players ages 16 and older with a minimum of four years of playing experience. Participants will rehearse and perform under the direction of acclaimed artists and educators Jenni Brandon, Matthew Coley, David Harvey, and Stephanie Smith.
