About this Event
In this talk, interdisciplinary artist Hayden Dunham will elaborate on their practices of evaporation and sublimation, to explore new methods of material possibility. They will share past and current research on transmutation, lithium, C8, energy drinks, DD, H+, Seven Sisters star constellation, oil, chlorophyll, HYD and other material states. Through these entities, Dunham orchestrates interactions between elements both visible and invisible, inviting intimacies with the very forces that generated the planet and the infinite creation it renders possible.
Hayden Dunham is an American interdisciplinary artist whose practice moves between performance, sculpture, installation, and experimental material processes. Their work explores the shifting boundaries between the human body, synthetic substances, and the environment, questioning conventional distinctions between the organic and inorganic, the natural and artificial, and the living and non-living. Central to Dunham’s practice is an understanding of the body as a porous, unstable, and constantly transforming entity. Drawing on ideas from chemistry, ecology, biotechnology, and speculative futures, they investigate how bodies are shaped by the substances and systems they encounter.
