About this Event
NOTE: No registration needed, this is a drop-in walk.
Join photographers Duane Bailey-Castro and Nathan Kensinger for a reception and walk-through of their photography exhibit "Harlem River Transformations." This exhibit explores the changing landscapes of the Harlem River, which Duane and Nathan have documented over the past 15 years, as its coastline has been transformed by ecological restorations and new green spaces. This exhibit is part of the annual Harlem River Celebration in Roberto Clemente State Park, which also includes free canoeing on the river!
Duane Bailey-Castro is a lifelong Bronx resident who has been photographing the bridges of the Harlem River for 15 years. His work has been exhibited by the NY Public Library, NYC Parks, and Bronx Documentary Center. NathanKensinger is a Brooklyn based artist who has been documenting the NYC waterfront for 20 years. His photos have been exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York, Queens Museum, and Brooklyn Museum.
"Harlem River Transformations" is made possible with the support of the Hudson River Foundation, New York and New Jersey Harbor and Estuary Program, NYC H2O, and Roberto Clemente State Park. It will be on view from October 12 to October 19th in the community room of Roberto Clemente State Park.
This walk will take place directly after Duane and Nathan's Drop-In walk "Harlem River Walk" organized in partnership with OHNY.
