Session 1 - Nov 13th - Singing from the heart with Grainne
This workshop will be a chance to learn some simple chants in English and sansrit and to sing them in a meditative and devotional way. Some of the singing is loosely based on the Taize tradition and some on the Kirtan . Using simple , repetitive chants helps us to quieten our minds and connect with our hearts . I will spend the first half of the session teaching the chants and then after a short break we will sing together what we've learnt . We will play around with layering the chants in different ways . There will also be a short meditative practice where chants are interspersed with times of silence to foster a sense of peace.
Session 2 - Nov 20th - Older Women - Reading and creating writing together with Jenny
A gentle creative session exploring the theme of "Older women " through reading other women's writing and creating a group piece ourselves .
Session 3 Nov 27th China painting with Emma
The workshop will be an opportunity to try china painting , to learn some basic techniques and to paint a tile, egg cup, plate or mug to take away with you and fire in an ordinary oven - an ideal personalised birthday or Christmas present !! Paints and a tile are provided as part of the fee but you will need to pay a small extra charge for any other china you take away .
