Halloween Fun For the Whole Family!
Frightday night on the 30th
Family fun afternoon on the 31st
Join us on the grounds of the Vancouver Island Military Museum, as Reconciliation Theatre brings Halloween fun for all ages to Downtown Nanaimo.
All events are by donation to Tillicum Lelum Holiday Hamper Fund.
Grateful to be invited to work with Vancouver Island Military Museum, City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Pride Society, Nanaimo Museum and Tourism Nanaimo to celebrate one of Nanaimo's favourite holidays together.
Friday evening the Undead take over Downtown Nanaimo with our city's first ZOMBIE WALK in too long!
Get yourself Zombied up and muster at the Military Museum Park any time after 5pm. Enjoy the haunted walk-through that will leave you terrified, then sit in on the telling of scary stories from "Never Whistle at Night: an Anthology of Indigenous Dark Fiction Vol 2". We will even have some talented folks to help with makeup.
At 7:30pm the Undead will descend from the top of Cameron Rd and take over Diana Krall Plaza to Commercial St. Prizes for best costumes and everyone who dresses up and joins the walk gets a highly-coveted Reconciliation Theatre sticker! Of course everyone is welcome to come downtown and play "Last of Us" and enjoy the fun. The walk wraps up at 8:30...but you are already downtown to enjoy Halloween Eve....
On the big day, Saturday Oct 31, Halloween fun for all ages will erupt in multiple locations in downtown Nanaimo. Reconciliation Theatre will be back at the Vancouver Island Military Museum with our site and programming adapted for family fun for young and young-at-heart.
Fun stories with varying degrees of "Spookiness" have been selected by elementary school teachers with a focus on Indigenous content. The walk-through will be a fun and silly adventure and kids can enjoy painting pumpkins and a large mural. Our makeup people will be back if kids want to add a facepainting to their costume.
Admission by donation to the Tillicum Lelum Holiday Hamper Fund.
Reconciliation Theatre is grateful to live, love and create together on the unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw Nation.
