Why does your heart start racing before anything has even happened? Why do some people love haunted houses and scary movies, while others want absolutely nothing to do with them? And why can being scared sometimes actually feel... good? This Halloween Eve, we’re getting curious about fear, anticipation, adrenaline and the nervous system.
We’ll begin with a short, playful exploration of what happens in the body when we experience suspense, uncertainty and activation, then move into a guided Somatic Dance practice designed to explore sensation, contraction, expansion, expression and movement.
From there, we’ll slowly make our way back down to the earth for a deeply restful Yoga Nidra, giving the body the opportunity to move from activation toward stillness and rest.
Think dark room, moody music, movement, curiosity and a little Halloween weirdness.
We’ll finish the evening together with warm apple cider before heading back out into the night.
No need to be a dancer. No need to be “good” at yoga. Just come curious.
