Let’s make this year’s Halloween Dance one to remember! 🦇
This year, proceeds from our annual Halloween Dance Fundraiser will be given to Trifina Niyongere, Alex’s wife, to support her and their six children following his tragic passing.
Alex was born on January 1, 1985, in Burundi (East Africa) and lived in Saskatoon with his family. On August 5, 2026, at the age of 41, he lost his life in a construction site accident at work. His passing has left his family, friends, and community grieving an unimaginable loss.
Alex was a hardworking man, a loyal friend, and, above all, a proud and devoted father. His children range in age from approximately 18 months to 17 years. Those who knew him remember his kindness, strength, and generosity, and the love he had for his family.
Alex was the primary provider for his household. Alongside her grief, Trifina now faces the overwhelming responsibility of raising their six children without him, managing the sudden financial pressures his loss has brought. Together, we can help ease that burden and show this family that their community cares.
Proceeds and donations will go directly to Trifina to help with:
Immediate living expenses, including housing, utilities, groceries, essentials for the children, including food, diapers, and
A financial cushion as the family navigates this difficult transition.
Join Us for an Evening of Music, Community, and Giving
Our Halloween Dance takes place on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Sutherland Hall, 1112 Central Avenue, Saskatoon.
Tickets are $35, with live music by the Harrison James Band, a late-night build-your-own-bun lunch, and a raffle. Drinks are $6 each.
By purchasing a dance ticket, taking part in the raffle, or making a donation, you will help provide practical support for Trifina and her children. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you are unable to attend or donate, please share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and community.
