About Mira:
Jazz trained pianist, singer, producer arranger & DJ,
Mira Méla brings her musicality & melodic
sensibility informed by over a decade of performing
across Canada and the US and Central America.
From rocking crowds of thousands at Shambhala,
regular appearances at both Toronto & Vancouvers
Jazz Festivals, to intimate rooftop DJ sets in
Toronto’s most sought after locations, (Ace, 1, X,
SoHo). Méla’s selects pay reverance to the musical
titans of Deep House, Jazz, Soul and Disco.
Her unique sound is a fusion of UK Jazz house,
contemporary vibes, and classic boogie elements,
with a strong emphasis on live instrumentation like
big horns, soulful melodies, hot basslines and
infectious grooves. Informed by her own
musicianship and a deep love for the classic eras of
Chicago House, Disco, Soul, Gospel and Neo-Soul,
Mira Méla’s mixes traverse deep soul/jazz cuts and
pulsating deep house, creating an atmosphere that
resonates the old with new. Her eclectic style
celebrates the playful side of music, bringing
people together through the universal language of
rhythm.
Mira is currently recording her long awaited debut
album, a neosoul/jazz/boogie fusion project
featuring award winning musicians, and her very
own extensive original arrangements supported by
live quintet off the floor horns & strings.
