About this Event
Jonny Tobin is a GRAMMY and JUNO-nominated keyboardist, producer, and artist from Vancouver, BC. Weaving ultra-catchy riffs and melodies with complex and lush harmonies, Jonny's music tells a story while bringing ear candy to the listener. His music exists somewhere between a 90’s video game and a 60’s Blue Note record, between nostalgia and futurism, blending jazz harmonies and improvisations with hip-hop, funk, and gospel-infused sensibilities. Jonny has previously opened for notable artists in the modern jazz/electronic space including acclaimed saxophonist Braxton Cook and bassist/producer CARRTOONS. Since 2019, Jonny has released 6 original albums, and is currently touring eastern Canada in support of his upcoming live album "Live At The Shelf" out in October.
This monthly concert series is hosted by University Hill Congregation, with support from the ProVision Fund. We are delighted to support the Vancouver Black Therapy and Advocacy Foundation with this month's concert.
