Explore one of the best preserved examples of First World War trench systems in the country - WW1 practice trenches dug in Wytham Woods over a century ago. During the war Wytham Woods became a training ground for young men preparing for military service. Local soldiers and Oxford University cadets trained here, practicing the skills they would need and leaving behind traces of a remarkable chapter in the area’s history.
