About this Event
Growing Our Own: New Mexico Behavioral Health Workforce Pathways
About the convening
New Mexico has made historic investments in behavioral health. Turning those investments into a coordinated system of community-based care depends on having the people to deliver it. Over the past several months, the Coalition for a Safer Albuquerque's Behavioral Health Workforce Action Team and a growing group of partners have been mapping a Behavioral Health Workforce Pathway for the state, covering every stage of a career in the field:
- Early exposure to behavioral health careers
- Training and higher education
- Licensure
- Employment
- Retention
- Leadership
What to expect
Before the convening, the Action Team will share draft policy and systems recommendations for each stage of the pathway so participants can review them in advance. On October 28, we'll work through them together to:
- Test and strengthen the recommendations
- Identify gaps and implementation barriers
- Surface legislative and administrative opportunities
- Determine where there's enough alignment to move toward action
Who's participating
Behavioral health providers, educators, employers, policymakers, workforce-development partners, students, peers, people with lived experience, and subject-matter experts from across the pathway.
Participating virtually
A virtual option is available. Zoom details will be emailed to virtual registrants before the event.
