About this Event
EcoSpark’s Executive Director, Paul Mero, will lead this discovery walk, sharing the history of the reserve and highlighting some of the species that live on and pass through the reserve.
A message from Paul:
Tommy Thompson Reserve is an amazing place brimming with life! In October 2026 its name was changed to reflect the area's purpose as an ecological haven and to highlight that the space is an "urban wilderness" and a protected sanctuary for wildlife.
The iNaturalist Tommy Thompson project has over 50,000 observations of almost 3,000 species of flora and fauna. Check out the iNaturalist Tommy Thompson Park nature observations made in previous Novembers to give you an idea of some of the species we may find this year. There are always facinating birds, plants and insects to discover!
