GROF® Breathwork, also known as holotropic breathwork, combines focused breathing, evocative music, and a supportive setting to facilitate expanded states of consciousness.Emerging from decades of psychedelic research conducted by Stanislav and Christina Grof, this approach is founded on the understanding that, when given the right conditions, the psyche has an innate tendency toward healing, integration, creativity, and connection. The word holotropic means “moving toward wholeness” and reflects this natural movement of the psyche.
Within these expanded states, emotions, memories, insights, somatic experiences, and deeper dimensions of consciousness may emerge that often remain outside ordinary awareness. This can include emotional release, personal insight, encounters with forgotten aspects of oneself, spiritual experiences, archetypal imagery, or a renewed sense of meaning, purpose, and connection.
Rather than directing the experience toward a predetermined outcome, GROF® Breathwork engages our innate healing intelligence: the psyche’s inherent capacity to reveal what is most relevant for healing and transformation in a given moment.
Participants experience the workshop in both roles of breather and sitter, supporting one another within a grounded and well held group setting. No previous experience is required.
