Taking a full day to devote to our grief is unusual in our culture. So is grieving openly with other people. It can feel vulnerable to even consider it.But there is also deep relief in being somewhere our grief is fully welcome. We don’t have to explain it, make it smaller, hold it together or worry about making other people uncomfortable. We can come as we are, with whatever grief is here.
This is a day of tending to our grief through ritual, somatic practices and community, with time for connection, rest, reflection and integration.
There’s no right way to grieve here. You’re invited to participate fully, without having to share or express anything that doesn’t feel right for you.
You don’t need to be grieving a recent death. You may be living with years of grief, layers of loss, or grief connected to relationships, health, family, unmet needs, our ancestors or the world around us.
All of it is welcome.
While much of my work is with women, this retreat welcomes anyone who wants to tend their grief in community.
