Join us on Thursday, October 15, for our Public History Community Service Day in Greenhills, Ohio - one of three Greenbelt towns built during the New Deal. In the morning, we will be scraping, sanding, and painting wooden memorial benches situated throughout Greenhills. Then, after a complimentary lunch, we will be using resources from the GHS Museum and Archives, Greenhills High School Alumni Room, and Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library to research the residents of Greenhills who are memorialized on the benches. Our research will inform short writeups to be paired with the refurbished benches.
Cost to participate is free; but registration is required and implies a commitment to attend. Our partners will be depending upon you. Please email Anne Delano Steinert at [email protected] with any questions. Register here: https://forms.gle/526fk6JxqLR3kMZp8
Meet at the lower level entry to Clifton Court Hall at UC. Please bring a laptop computer if possible and a water bottle. For painting, smocks will be provided; but please wear casual clothes. We will be carpooling in private cars for the ~25-minute drive to and from Greenhills. Let us know if you are able to provide transportation for others.
