The launch of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is helping to shape how education, skills development and employer needs align across the region. But what does this mean for the young people preparing to enter the workplace, and how can businesses help influence that journey?
Join us for our next Business Partner Day as we explore
"What Will the LSIP Do for Me? A Student Perspective."
Working in partnership with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, our students will take part in a series of preparatory workshops, giving them the opportunity to develop their understanding of the LSIP, regional skills priorities and the future world of work. The event will culminate in a student-led panel discussion where learners will share their perspectives directly with employers, discussing the opportunities, challenges and support they believe are needed to help them successfully transition into employment, apprenticeships and higher education.
The day will also feature:
- Student exhibitions showcasing projects, innovation and technical learning.
- Student presentations highlighting achievements, industry experiences and career ambitions.
- A thought-provoking panel discussion involving students and business leaders exploring the impact of the LSIP on young people and local industry.
- Networking opportunities with local and national businesses, education professionals and students.
- Lunch and informal opportunities to build new relationships and strengthen existing partnerships.
You will also have the opportunity to meet our Year 13 students as they prepare for their next steps beyond UTC. Whether progressing to university, higher and degree apprenticeships, or directly into employment, these students represent the next generation of talent. Share your insights, offer careers advice, discuss opportunities within your sector and perhaps even identify future apprentices or employees for your organisation.
