About this Event
Every Wednesday, Dark Parlour Society turns Spire, a century-old church in West Oakland, into a candlelit parlour for junk journaling. Cut, collage, glue and make something strange while a vintage picture show plays on the big screen. The film is atmosphere, not homework: talk, wander and work at your own pace.
Papers, scraps, scissors and glue are on the tables. Bring your own journal, scraps or yarn to share, or bring nothing at all.
This season’s pictures:
Wed, Nov 11: Nosferatu (1922), with Hugh Doolan’s orchestral score
Wed, Nov 18: House on Haunted Hill (1959), with Vincent Price
Wed, Nov 25: Charade (1963), with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant
Wed, Dec 9: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
