Menstrual health is an essential component of women's health, dignity, equality, and participation in the workforce. Yet, menstrual pain and related health challenges continue to affect the daily lives of millions of women, including those working in government institutions, private organisations, and other professional sectors.
In many workplaces, women are expected to maintain regular productivity despite experiencing severe menstrual discomfort. The absence of supportive workplace policies can contribute to physical distress, reduced productivity, emotional stress, and unequal opportunities for women.
The Global Summit on Paid Period Leave seeks to bring together international leaders, policymakers, human rights advocates, healthcare professionals, employers, civil society organisations, and social entrepreneurs to advance a more inclusive and compassionate approach to menstrual health in the workplace.
The summit is an initiative aligned with the vision of RISE Foundation — Ranjeeta Initiative for Social Empowerment Foundation, which works towards education, empowerment, and equality.
