About this Event
Get outside and find out why “We HEART Welaka!” this December! Camp Welaka is the beloved backdrop for this annual event where participants explore our most popular activities. Located on the Jupiter/Tequesta line and adjacent to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Camp Welaka is 640 acres of gorgeous green space just waiting for you.
Participants can pick their own adventure from selections that include fishing, canoeing, outdoor cooking experiences (open fire), archery (must be in 2nd grade), slackline, STEM science, craft-making and hiking.
This annual event is open to everyone...families, groups, friends, and explorers! Membership is NOT required; however pre-paid registration is. So are closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks (like sneakers or boots). Sandals, Crocs, and flip-flops are not permitted. Dress for the weather – this is a rain or shine event.
Get up close to real Florida animals during a special show from 2-3 PM each day starring the animal ambassadors from Busch Wildlife Sanctuary!
This year’s theme animal is the Florida Scrub Jay. Make sure to check out the special activity presented by our special guests, the rangers of Jonathan Dickinson, to learn about this incredible bird only found in Florida.
