“Giordano Bellincampi is a conductor who physically conveys the sheer joy of music-making from the podium.” – William Dart, New Zealand HeraldIn this concert Giordano Bellincampi and the ANAM Orchestra trace Vienna’s musical DNA across a century of change. Webern’s Passacaglia (1908) was written as a student homage to Brahms — his most Romantic and symphonic work before modernism took hold.
The Strauss family pieces bring the heartbeat of Vienna’s golden age of dance — Joseph’s celestial Sphärenklänge and Johann’s effervescent waltzes and overtures that once filled the city’s ballrooms. Together they set the scene for Schubert’s Symphony No. 9, “The Great,” whose expansive melodies inspired later generations from Bruckner to Mahler.
“This program highlights the immense talent of the ANAM players... I can’t wait to perform this exciting music with the ANAM Orchestra!” – Giordano Bellincampi
