About Your Instructor
Troy began practising yoga 30 years ago, sparking a lifelong curiosity about the discipline and its capacity to steady the mind. Over time he explored Ashtanga, Bikram and Vinyasa, but always returned to the teachings of Iyengar Yoga.
His family roots are in Hervey Bay, and his return home in 2013 coincided with the opening of the Hervey Bay School of Yoga. Troy has trained in the Teacher Training Program for seven years and holds a Statement of Compliance with Iyengar Yoga Australia.
Throughout his working life, Troy has been involved in complex community‑based roles supporting people experiencing significant hardship. He has worked alongside individuals navigating trauma, instability and disadvantage. In these environments, yoga has been essential. It has provided the energy to show up each day with consistency and the clarity to advocate with passion.
Yoga resets the nervous system, offering a reliable way to regulate, recover and return to centre — an indispensable resource when working in trauma‑affected fields. The practice continues to support Troy’s commitment to purposeful action, being of service to the community, and ongoing study within the Iyengar tradition.
