About this Event
Gateway National Recreation Area Cultural Resources will host a Collections Pop-Up Event for members of the public to discover the rich and diverse objects in the park’s museum collection on Saturday, September 26 from 1:00-3:00 pm. Visit with Seasonal Museum Techs Jade Maynard and Sarah McCullough who will spotlight a few of their favorite items from our vast collections. Gateway's museum collections include items such as architectural drawings, photographs, military manuals, architectural elements, uniforms, and much more, spanning from approximately 2,700 BCE into the twentieth century. Some of the artifacts that will be on display are from the American Revolutionary Period, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
This event will be hosted at the Fort Wadsworth Visitor Center in the Staten Island Unit at 120 New York Avenue. You can register for one of two time slots; the first slot is at 1:00 p.m. and the second at 2:00 p.m. There are a limited number of spaces available, so register as soon as possible to reserve your spot for the pop-up event.
