Join Community Services Unlimited Inc. for our November Garden Gateway Workshop at the CSU/Expo Mini Urban Farm.
As we move further into fall, we'll explore practical gardening techniques to maintain healthy plants, prepare for the coming seasons, and expand our growing spaces. Our nutrition and cooking demonstration will feature a seasonal roasted squash salad.
Garden Gateway Workshops combine hands-on gardening education with nutrition and cooking activities that help participants build practical skills they can use at home.
Gardening: The Fall Farm – Pruning, Seed Saving & Plant Propagation
Learn how pruning and propagation can support plant health and help you grow more plants.
During this session, we'll cover the basics of pruning, including how to recognize which branches need attention and how pruning practices vary depending on the plant.
We will cover the practice of seed saving during our workshop.
Nutrition/Cooking: Roasted Squash Salad
Learn how to prepare a flavorful roasted squash salad using seasonal vegetables and fresh greens.
We'll demonstrate how to roast squash to bring out its natural sweetness and combine it with other fresh ingredients to create a balanced, satisfying dish.
The session will highlight practical cooking techniques, seasonal eating, and creative ways to incorporate fresh produce into everyday meals.

Registration is required to receive workshop supplies.
RSVP and Deposit Policy
In order to help us better prepare for accurate numbers of attendees we are asking for a small deposit ($7) to register for the workshop. Once you attend, you will receive a voucher to spend the deposit at the Village Market Place. If the deposit is prohibitive, you may request a waiver by emailing [email protected]. Please note: waiver recipients who are no-shows the day of the workshop will not be eligible to receive a waiver for future workshops.
- Vouchers are redeemable at any time before the final workshop in June 2027.
- They can be used separately, or together.
- Vouchers cannot be replaced.
