The Irish Club of Alaska presents Galway Days Irish Festival on October 3rd and 4th at The Nave located at 3502 Spenard Rd. Galway Days is an annual celebration of all things Irish, with 2 days of performances, workshops, vendors and food. Scaled down from previous outdoor Festivals the 2026 Galway Days will feature a line of curated vendors offering fiber art, stone ware, ceramics, jewelry and art.In the main hall at the Nave there will be all day performances featuring dance, music, song, poetry and storytelling. Performers include the Irish Dance Academy of Alaska, Wings to Fly, Jubilee, The Derry Aires, Maya & Maloney, Philip Price, and many more.
Saturday evening will be a ticketed concert event featuring Caitlin Warbelow and Chris Ranney in concert.
Hailing from a family of Alaskan bush pilots and pioneers, Caitlin is a violinist and entrepreneur in New York. Caitlin originated and performs the violinist and fiddler book for the critically-acclaimed Tony Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated Broadway musical “Come From Away,” which opened on Broadway in 2017. Prior to joining “Come FromAway,” Caitlin performed in the pit orchestra for Sting’s Broadway musical, THE LAST SHIP. In 2019, in collaboration with conductor Robert Franz and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Caitlin commissioned and premiered a sold-out, full-length program of traditional American and Celtic music arranged for fiddle and symphony by the Golden Globe-nominated Irish composer Brian Byrne.
Her partner Chris is a pianist, musical director, and conductor who has performed on stages all over the United States, including seven years as the Associate Conductor and Musical Director of the Tony Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated Broadway musical “Come From Away” in New York City. Chris’s work has been heard as far away as Shanghai, when he acted as Musical Supervisor and Arranger for “Next Stop Broadway,” a musical-revue tour of major venues in China. He also performs frequently in New York and California with Tony Award-nominated actress Jenn Colella, and serves as her music director and pianist.
On Sunday there will be a children's program featuring storytellers and performers doing family friendly songs. The kids portion of the show will run from 1 - 4. At 4 pm our sister organization Irish Cultural Collective will host a A céilí (pronounced kay-lee), a traditional Irish social gathering featuring lively folk music, communal group dancing, and socializing.
The festival is free and open to the public. The only ticketed event is the Saturday evening Concert. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.irishalaska.org or at the door.
