Csütörtökön, október 1-én, 18 órától a sepsiszentgyörgyi Lábasház ad otthont Marco Trentin olasz művész, a 8. Székelyföldi Grafikai Biennále nagydíjasa Distinguishing Marks (Különös ismertetőjelek) című egyéni kiállításának. A tárlat megnyitójával kezdetét veszi a Székelyföldi Grafikai Biennále sepsiszentgyörgyi eseménysorozata.
A kiállítás címe a személyazonosítás és a felismerés gyakorlatából kölcsönzi fogalmi alapját: azokra a jegyekre utal, amelyek alapján egy személy beazonosíthatóvá válik és amelyek különböző nyilvántartásokban, személyazonosító okmányokon kerülnek rögzítésre. Trentin ezekből az adminisztratív és bürokratikus kategóriákból kiindulva vizsgálja az identitás rögzíthetőségének és leírhatóságának paradoxonát.
Munkáiban az egyén összetett és változékony mivolta kerül szembe az azonosítás leegyszerűsítő logikájával, amely a személyiséget néhány kiemelt, katalogizálható jellemzőre redukálja. A művész e feszültségen keresztül arra kérdez rá, miként válhatnak az egyén sajátos jegyei az identitás bizonyítékaivá, illetve hogyan alakítja át a felismerés és azonosítás igénye a személyről alkotott képünket.

On Thursday, October 1st, at 6 pm, the Biennial’s event series in Sfântu Gheorghe will commence at the Lábasház (Arcaded House) with the opening of Distinguishing Marks, a solo exhibition by Italian artist Marco Trentin, winner of the 8th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland.
The title of the exhibition draws its conceptual basis from the practices of identification and recognition, referring to the features by which a person can be identified and which are recorded in various registers and identity documents. Starting from these administrative and bureaucratic categories, Trenti explores the paradox of making identity fixed and definable.
In his works, the complex and ever-changing nature of the individual is set against the reductive logic of identification, which seeks to reduce personality to a few distinctive, categorizable features. Through this tension, the artist questions how individual characteristics can become evidence of identity, and how the need for recognition and identification shapes and transforms our perception of the person.
The opening will be conducted by dr. Irén Kányádi, art historian.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until October 29th.

Joi, 1 octombrie, de la ora 18:00, Casa cu Arcade din Sfântu Gheorghe va găzdui expoziția personală Distinguishing Marks (Semne distinctive) a artistului italian Marco Trentin, laureatul Marelui Premiu al G8 – ediția8 a Bienalei de Grafică din Ținutul Secuiesc. Vernisajul expoziției va marca debutul seriei de evenimente din Sfântu Gheorghe, din cadrul etapei finale a Bienalei de Grafică din Ținutul Secuiesc, ediția9.
Titlul expoziției își are fundamentul conceptual în practicile identificării și recunoașterii, făcând referire la acele caracteristici prin care o persoană poate fi identificată și care sunt consemnate în diverse registre și acte de identitate. Pornind de la aceste categorii administrative și birocratice, Trentin explorează paradoxul fixării și definirii identității.
În lucrările sale, natura complexă și schimbătoare a individului este pusă în opoziție cu logica simplificatoare a identificării, care încearcă să reducă personalitatea la câteva caracteristici distincte și clasificabile. Prin această tensiune, artistul problematizează modul în care trăsăturile individuale pot deveni dovezi ale identității și felul în care nevoia de recunoaștere și identificare modelează și transformă imaginea pe care ne-o formăm despre persoană.
Vernisajul va fi susținut de dr. Irén Kányádi, istoric de artă.
Expoziția poate fi vizitată până la 29 octombrie.
