Fusion Friday Belly Dance:Double choreo class: Shaabi Review and holiday shimmy routine!

THE DETAILS:
We’ve got a new Fusion Belly Dance class coming your way! And this time, we’ve got 2 short choreographies split over the 8 week session. One will be a review of our Shaabi class from last summer. It’s a fun, sassy street-style of belly dance that’s usually accompanied to upbeat music with cheeky lyrics, and a saucy stage presence! Also, if you’re interested in performing in the November 5th Iron Smoke Belly Dance showcase, this dance will be featured there!
The other half of class will be a cute holiday inspired belly dance that focuses every dancer’s fave-SHIMMIES!!! It’s short n sweet but don’t let that fool you, as there is every type of shimmy you could think of crammed into this little Christmas number! It’s to a belly dance version of Deck the Halls that’s a ton of fun. And this routine will be performed at the Ion Smoke Winter Belly Dance Showcase 12/23rd, should you be interested in performing!
*we will have some extra rehearsal time for this routine Tuesdays 12/8th, 12/15th, and 12/22nd at 5:45-6:45*
WHAT TO WEAR?
Come to class in whatever clothes you comfortably move in. A bare foot or dancer slipper (no heels) is typical for this class.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
No dance experience is required as a break down of the movements and an explanation of the vocabulary used will be given in class. This class is multi-level, I always offer modifications and extra challenges for more advanced students. Each class consists of a basic warm up, a tutorial in the technique, then those techniques get drilled in combinations. We’ll then string those combos string together to make a fully formed choreographed routine. And we always end class with a little lead-and-follow freestyle!
PRICING, LOCATION, MISC.
Classes are located at 389 Gregory Street at the Highland Ballroom in the Weider Hall building, 4th floor. Register for the full 8 week session for $120 (That’s $15 a class) or drop-in for $20 a piece.
If you’re interested in performing in the November 5th and/or the 12/23rd showcase, I insist on registering for the full 8 weeks and let me know by the second class-so that i can factor you into formations and featured sections. If you cannot make it to class, for whatever reason, please reach out and let me know, so i can keep you posted.
