Día de los Muertos – a free community cultural celebration
Join us at Khandallah Town Hall to celebrate Día de los Muertos, the Mexican tradition of remembering and honouring the people we love who have passed.

📍 Khandallah Town Hall, Wellington
🎟 Free for everyone, but places are limited to 50.

What’s on
🎶 Live Mexican music, with stories about where the tradition comes from.
🍫 Free hot chocolate and cookies
🖍 Kids can colour their own calaveras (sugar skulls paper designs)
🌼 A community ofrenda (altar), built together
Bring a photo of a loved one who has passed, and something for the altar. It could be a favourite food, a flower, a small keepsake or a candle.
Everyone is welcome, whatever your background, and families are encouraged to come.
Led by Mexican musician Claudio Escutia.
