Join Ranger Payton on Sun., Oct. 25, 6 - 8 p.m. at Fort Selden Historic Site in Radium Springs, New Mexico, to watch the moon rise over the ruins and take a stroll under its light! As we walk under the moon’s glow, participants can expect to hear some stories about the moon, discuss the histories about those the moon shined its light on before us, and learn about the nocturnal animals and creepy crawlies that emerge when the sun goes down. The hike will be 3/10ths of a mile and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Please wear closed-toed shoes and feel free to bring flashlights or head lamps, but only red light should be used during the tour to allow our eyes to adjust to the dark sky. Dress in warm layers.
The hike is $10 for adults and $5 for children 16 years and younger. Purchase tickets online at https://my.nmculture.org/56495/58779.
