About this Event
Working with children also means building relationships with the adults who care for them. Sometimes we know what we’re seeing in our work with a child, but explaining it to a parent in a way that feels clear, helpful, and supportive can feel challenging.
In this training, we’ll explore how to take concepts like behavior, regulation, connection, and the therapeutic process and talk about them in ways that make sense to caregivers. We’ll also look at how we show up in these conversations and how the relationship we build with parents can support the work we’re doing with their child.
And we won’t just talk about it. Through hands-on activities, discussion, and real-life examples, you’ll have opportunities to practice putting these ideas into language that feels natural and useful in your own work.
Designed for counselors, social workers, PLPCs, graduate students, and helping professionals working with children and families.
