Join writers Matt Baker, David Quantick and Louise Willder for a lively conversation about adaptation, storytelling and writing across books, television and film.
Matt Baker is the writer behind hit dramas Hotel Portofino and Patience, as well as adaptations including Professor T and Before We Die. His debut novel, A Taste for M**der, has also been adapted for television.
Emmy Award-winning David Quantick’s credits span Veep, The Thick of It, Spitting Image, film and fiction. His latest novel, The Hyena, is an inventive alternative history.
They are joined by Louise Willder, author of The Book Was Better, exploring the fascinating relationship between books and their screen adaptations.
Together, they’ll discuss what gets lost, gained and transformed when stories move between page and screen – and ask that perennial question: was the book better?
