This is our first regular monthly meeting of the winter season for Friends and all are welcome.Although much research had been done on their nesting grounds on the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, almost nothing was known about what happens in winter. Unlike other geese species nesting in Alaska, these birds also winter in Alaska and are found only in the Bering Sea region. Her hope is that winter research would shed more light on the wild population fluctuations this species has endured. Winter research on Alaska's Coast is tough. Come hear her stories and learn what she found out.
