Produced by the European Southern Observatory From Earth to the Universe is a stunning, 30-minute voyage through space and time conveying through sparkling sights and sounds the Universe revealed to us by science.
Viewers can revel in the splendor of the worlds in the Solar System and our scorching Sun. From Earth to the Universe takes the audience out to the colorful birthplaces and burial grounds of stars, and still further beyond the Milky Way to the unimaginable immensity of myriad galaxies.
Along the way, the audience will learn about the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, and today’s giant telescopes that allow us to probe ever deeper into the Universe.
After this one-hour show, guests are then invited (weather permitting) to view the meteor shower, planets, and deep space through the observatory's telescopes.
Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or just curious about the cosmos, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience. This event is open to all Lake County families.
7:30-8:30: Planetarium Show
8:30-11:00: Tour of the night sky and telescopes
This event will be hosted by Lake County Office of Education's astronomy expert, Angelo Parisi.
- Children under 5 are free
- Adults are $10 each
- Students are Free
- Families of 4 or more can register for a discounted price together for $5.
