About this Event
From Darkness, She Rises
A Winter Solstice Awakening
A Journey Through Sacred Fire, Womb Blessings & Ecstatic Dance
Friday, December 4, 2026 | 6:30–10:00 PM
Oakhenge Houses of Healing | Cambridge, Ontario
Facilitated by Jane, Denine & Allisha
As the days grow shorter and the longest night approaches, we are invited to turn inward, to honour the darkness, tend our inner flame, and remember the sacred creative power that lives within us.
This Winter Solstice season, we invite you into the warmth of the Oakhenge Yurt for an intimate evening of feminine embodiment, sacred ceremony, sensual movement and deep restoration.
From Darkness, She Rises is a 3.5-hour women's retreat designed to awaken the Creatrix within, the part of ourselves that creates, feels, transforms and gives life to new possibilities.
Through rhythm, breath, ritual and movement, we will explore the relationship between our bodies, our intuition, our sensuality and the sacred cycles of nature.
Together, we will create sacred space through drumming, receive blessings through ritual, embody our intentions through dance, and integrate the experience through restorative movement and sound.
This is an invitation to be witnessed, to move without judgment, to honour your own wisdom, and to reclaim the simple joy of being fully present in your body.
Your Evening Journey
Sacred Fire Opening Circle
Gather around a beautiful candlelit sacred fire in the heart of the yurt. Through grounding, reflection and intention setting, we honour the darkness of winter and the returning light.
Sacred Somatic Drumming & Rhythmic Breathwork
Connect with the ancient language of rhythm as we explore guided drumming, gentle rhythmic breathwork and embodied awareness.
Together, we create a shared ceremonial space, allowing the pulse of the drums to invite connection, presence and expression.
Drums will be provided, and you are warmly welcome to bring your own.
Awakening the Creatrix: Womb & Serpent Blessings
Led by Denine, this sacred ritual invites connection with the symbolic womb space as a centre of creativity, intuition, transformation and personal power.
Through tantra-inspired awareness, intentional breath, guided ritual and optional partnered witnessing, we honour the Creatrix within.
The serpent, an ancient symbol of transformation and renewal, reminds us of our capacity to shed what no longer serves and welcome new beginnings.
This practice honours the womb as both a physical and symbolic space. All women are welcome, including those who do not have a uterus.
Sensual Ecstatic Dance: Embodying the Blessing
Now we move!
With the intentions of our ceremony alive within us, we transition into a guided journey of sensual, intuitive and ecstatic dance.
There are no steps to learn, no choreography to follow and no expectations about how your movement should look.
This is an opportunity to explore the senses, reconnect with pleasure in movement and express what words cannot always hold.
Sensuality here is about presence, embodied connection and personal freedom, not sexual activity.
Move gently. Move boldly. Move in whatever way feels authentic to you.
Blue Lotus Tea & Ceremonial Cacao
We will share a moment of nourishment and connection through thoughtfully prepared Blue Lotus and Hibiscus Tea and ceremonial cacao.
These offerings invite us to slow down, engage our senses and savour the warmth of community.
Both beverages are optional, with non-psychoactive alternatives available. Ingredient information and consent details will be provided before participation.
Light refreshments will also be served.
Restorative Movement
As the energy of the evening begins to soften, Allisha will guide us through gentle, restorative movement, encouraging the body to settle, release effort and return to quiet awareness.
There is nothing to achieve, only an invitation to rest.
Immersive Sound Bath
Our evening concludes with Jane guiding a deeply restful sound experience using singing bowls, gong and other resonant instruments.
Wrapped in the warmth of the yurt, allow yourself to become still and listen as the evening draws towards its close.
We will finish with a gentle closing blessing, honouring the light we carry within ourselves and the community we have created together.

An Invitation
At Yule, we do not celebrate the light because the darkness has disappeared.
We celebrate because even in the deepest darkness, the promise of returning light remains.
Come tend your inner flame. Awaken your Creatrix. Move your blessings into being.
From Darkness, She Rises.
We look forward to welcoming you to Oakhenge.
