Friendsgiving - A Social Experiment 2026 Edition
Thanksgiving is traditionally a time where communities and neighbours bring food and celebrate things they're thankful for: a job, a place to live, being in Canada, freedom and most importantly great family, friends and community. In an age where people may be far from home, it's hard to have the thanksgiving experience.
Vancity Connections, The Meetup Community Network & YVR Communities invite you to Friendsgiving 2026, a social expriment where we aim to make vancouver a more connected place through food and boardgames.
Whether you're new to town or been here all your life, you're invited to our Friendsgiving event!
Schedule:
5:30PM-6:00PM - Sign In, Networking & Gratitude Wall
6:00PM-8:00PM- Potluck Dinner
8:00PM-10:00PM- icebreaker + activities
Food contest - We will be having a food contest to pick the best dish of the night based on the following criteria (voted by your peers):
-delicious
-unique/exoticness
If you are bringing a dish or game to share, make sure you identify your game/container with a label so i can be identified if it is left behind.
Boardgames:
If you have a board game, bring it out!
