Crispy fried chicken. Cold Champagne. The Rooftop. On October 27, Hotel Clermont is hosting Fried & Wine, a one-night event featuring cook, writer, photographer and stylist Angie Mosier and chef Shaun Doty, co-founder of Atlanta's Bantam & Biddy, with Champagne selected by Master Sommelier Michael McNeill of Georgia Crown.
You may have seen them in Food & Wine recently, where the magazine tested six fried chicken recipes from chefs across the country. Mosier's took the top spot overall. Doty's earned Best Southern-style. Now both versions are landing on The Rooftop, side by side, for one night only.
The two Atlanta culinary veterans approach fried chicken differently, and that contrast is exactly the point. McNeill will select a Champagne to complement the richness and crispness of both versions, adding a refined counterpoint to a dish rooted firmly in Southern comfort. It is the kind of pairing that feels right at home at Hotel Clermont, where polished food and a playful spirit have long shared the same address.
Tickets are $60 per person and include unlimited food and one glass of Champagne. Doty and Mosier's fried chicken will be served alongside sides and accompaniments from the Tiny Lou's team, including cornbread and other Southern-inspired favorites. Additional drinks are available at the rooftop bar.
