When Families Flourish participants first enter our program, many are looking to build wealth, yes.But economic stability is not the only freedom they’re seeking. They want freedom from harassment, freedom from unmet promises, freedom to live where they want. They’re building generational wealth, as one of our participants talked about at a recent event.
Lashawn Harris captures all of that in her new book, “Tell Her Story.” Through the lens of New York City grandmother Eleanor Bumpurs, Harris paints a picture of a group of women seeking multiple freedoms.
You are invited to an evening with author, hosted by Families Flourish board member Carl Faller and his wife Mary Finnegan Thursday, October 8 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at
The Kitchen
231 E Livingston Ave
Columbus, OH 43215
Moderated by Amelia Robinson of The Columbus Dispatch, the evening will feature a discussion of Tell Her Story. You can also talk to Families Flourish graduates about how the program has helped them build all kinds of freedoms.
Together, we will consider what true freedom, opportunity and wealth beyond money can mean for families and communities.
