Want to see how comedians get started? It all begins with open mics shows like this.
Our Friday night Rough Cuts Open Mic gives newcomers to the standup comedy scene their six minutes of fame. It’s where people who think “Hey, I could be a comedian” get started on their journey of greatness or disappointment.
Come along and give them some feedback in the form of laughter (or the lack thereof). It’s the Russian Roulette of comedy shows - be prepared for the side-splitting, the surreal, and the plain awkward!

Grab a friend or two and come check out NZ’s most unique cardboard showroom (yes, it is actually built of cardboard) - every Friday at 7.30pm in Kingsland.
Note! This show features newbies with some pros in the mix. If you want something more polished, we recommend our She’ll Be Right Sunday shows which feature a curated lineup of experienced comedians.
