Reiki has roots in ancient Japanese healing practices and stems from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning vital life force energy. Universal life force energy exists all around us and flows through living things.
Reiki is not a religion. Those who practice Reiki or receive Reiki treatments are free to follow their own religious practices and beliefs, and make decisions based on these things.
Reiki practitioners channel the “universal life force energy”. Reiki practitioners don’t create energy or give their energy to you. Rather, they act as a “conduit” for this universal life force energy to flow to you. Channeling the universal life force energy and encouraging its movement through your body can help to create a healthier environment within your body and mind.
